Mixed ceramics

Values are benchmarks for easy comparison. Other materials on request

Mixed ceramics or dispersion ceramics (ATZ and ZTA ceramics)

A combination of positive oxide ceramics properties (ZrO2 / Al2O3) to provide enhanced material properties (ZTA / ATZ).

Mixed ceramics are materials that consist of a combination of zirconium oxide and aluminum oxide to produce advanced materials combining the high strength and impact resistance of zirconia with the hardness of alumina. In contrast to ATZ ceramics, the percentage share of alumina in ZTA ceramics is higher than that of zirconia.

Specific properties

High strength
High impact resistance
High hardness
High wear resistance
High Weibull modulus
High surface quality
Good electric insulation (ZTA)

Applications

Various implants in the medical engineering sector
High-performance cutting components used in the medical engineering sector
